I am so sorry for not posting for over a week! In the mean time, I’ve been working on a sister blog called TFJ UNI STYLE. It originally started solely because I had an assignment where I had to create a unique blog based on a passion, and now I have heaps of things planned for it because I think it’s something that can really benefit my uni student reader demographic.
With that being said though, TFJ is my BAE and I just haven’t had a chance this past week to spend some quality time on it. Rest assured though, that as of this Thursday I will be on a two month break from uni so there will literally be a post every day.
This outfit idea came to me when I tried on the Max Mara Rialto hooded coat but wasn’t a massive fan of the sleeves. I loved the idea of a structured camel vest with statement leather pants, so I teamed this Theory trench with Yves Saint Laurent pants. I absolutely love the texture of the A Wang bag and how it gives the outfit a nice twist. I think my next major bag purchase will definitely be one of the Alexander Wang Rockie bags, I absolutely love them.
There isn’t much that makes me feel like it’s christmas and i’m five years old anymore, which is a bit sad, but nonetheless, a makeup haul sure induced that feeling!
Between my makeup application at Mecca Maxima Highpoint, Priceline’s 40% off sale, and email notifications about Smashbox’s limited edition lipsticks all in one week, it was safe to say that maybe I over-splurged on cosmetics…
I must admit, I have no regrets what so ever! So what I was short $0.25 to buy a friend’s birthday present this week?! Who cares that my purse is left with a very lonely $0.10 piece? not me!
Smashbox Be Legendary Limited Edition Lipstick Trio – $25
Umm who wouldn’t buy three perfectly sized mini lipsticks in a pack with gorgeous, vibrant colours?! Did I mention that they’re limited edition?
Maybelline New York Color Elixir lip gloss – RRP $17.95
Did someone just say 40% off at Priceline? Not only that, but I had a $10 reward voucher, so technically, I bought two for the price of half of one… winning.
NARS Albatross Highlighter – $39
I caved. It’s been on my wish list for too long and contouring without highlighter just doesn’t seem right! I’ve literally used this highlighter non stop since purchasing it! Originally, I couldn’t justify spending $39 on a highlighter, but since I did, I do not regret it one bit!!!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – $35
There is literally nothing better than being able to hide imperfections without caking your makeup. Thanks, NARS.
NARS Pure Matte Lipstick – $35
Every body needs a quality nude lipstick, okay?!
Kit Cosmetics False Eyelashes – $17
What’s a makeover without false eyelashes? Go hard or go home!
Now, I don’t know why I felt I needed to justify my purchases, but it seems like my hip pocket nerve feels a little better now…
However, my beauty wish list is rather long, and instead of listing the items, i’ll link you! I like to call this the “if I could, I would” wish list!
Motivating? Oh yeah.
I’m just happy that I can tick off the Topshop Jeans, the Tiffany necklace and the Real Techniques cosmetic brushes!
Literally the only exception to my “no mixing metals“ rule! Normally, I hate combining silver and gold when the pieces are bold (like the shoes and the purse) but, Miley has made me see the light…
Here is a quick, casual but completely à la mode look, completed with my favorite designer accessories from Cèline, Chanel, Kenzo and Yves Saint Laurent
Literally everything I want to add to my cosmetics collection ASAP!
Stay tuned as I cross these items off of the list!
I have no excuses for posting this other than the fact that I feel that this skirt needs to become apart of my wardrobe, and that it would match with my favourite items that I already have at the moment.
I find that the bold blue is a great statement, as is the print of the skirt, which will blend nicely into the otherwise neutral colour palette that autumn/winter will revolve around, while still encouraging my obsession for (almost) all black everything!
Leather, Mesh and Midriffs… Oh my!
Be the life of the party and shake things up with electric colours, bold statements and pieces and show a little skin, because it’s summer and you’re allowed to!
Rewind to the electric eighties and mix, match and just have fun!
A Winters trend that can and will carry on into Spring; Faux Fur vests.
These vests, as well cut and tailored as they may be, have a thicker and broader silhouette, which can make them a nightmare to style! However, this is light at the end of this tunnel.
You can get onto the band wagon with fur vests if you team them with simple shirts and skinny cut jeans, even simple and tailored pants will be sure to compliment the faux fur vest!
Be sure to be adventurous with the faux fur vest; team it with leather bottoms or accessories for a super-chic and put together look.
Here are some of my favourite looks with faux fur vests:
