I have a serious case of wanderlust and it’s not going away!
Knowing that Coachella is happening and i’m not there is making it worse, and so is watching any TV show that’s based in New York. Let’s not even get me started on my desperate need to go to London.
I just really want to travel the world and feel those emotions that I felt when I was away exactly two years ago. It’s been two years too long.
Due to my wanderlust I created this edit. It’s just one of those “if I were getting on a plane right now what would I wear?” edits. Yes, I would wear jeans, I could sleep in jeans if I wanted to.
Here’s to staying in school and the thought of dancing at Coachella.
Who is the perfectly imperfect woman who is filled with pride, desire and ambition, who is her own oxymoron? It’s la parisienne
There isn’t much that makes me feel like it’s christmas and i’m five years old anymore, which is a bit sad, but nonetheless, a makeup haul sure induced that feeling!
Between my makeup application at Mecca Maxima Highpoint, Priceline’s 40% off sale, and email notifications about Smashbox’s limited edition lipsticks all in one week, it was safe to say that maybe I over-splurged on cosmetics…
I must admit, I have no regrets what so ever! So what I was short $0.25 to buy a friend’s birthday present this week?! Who cares that my purse is left with a very lonely $0.10 piece? not me!
Smashbox Be Legendary Limited Edition Lipstick Trio – $25
Umm who wouldn’t buy three perfectly sized mini lipsticks in a pack with gorgeous, vibrant colours?! Did I mention that they’re limited edition?
Maybelline New York Color Elixir lip gloss – RRP $17.95
Did someone just say 40% off at Priceline? Not only that, but I had a $10 reward voucher, so technically, I bought two for the price of half of one… winning.
NARS Albatross Highlighter – $39
I caved. It’s been on my wish list for too long and contouring without highlighter just doesn’t seem right! I’ve literally used this highlighter non stop since purchasing it! Originally, I couldn’t justify spending $39 on a highlighter, but since I did, I do not regret it one bit!!!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – $35
There is literally nothing better than being able to hide imperfections without caking your makeup. Thanks, NARS.
NARS Pure Matte Lipstick – $35
Every body needs a quality nude lipstick, okay?!
Kit Cosmetics False Eyelashes – $17
What’s a makeover without false eyelashes? Go hard or go home!
Now, I don’t know why I felt I needed to justify my purchases, but it seems like my hip pocket nerve feels a little better now…
However, my beauty wish list is rather long, and instead of listing the items, i’ll link you! I like to call this the “if I could, I would” wish list!
Not only does this look form part of my summer wishlist, but I think this is the perfect casual sports-luxe look!

Let me be the one to tell you how difficult it is to rush home from a long and busy day out, only to get ready for the long night ahead with little to no time to make any decent changes!
This edit showcases a great and easy way to go from a casual, every day look (which is so so á la mode and easily transform it into a sophisticated look, perfect for a night out!
Included in this edit are some of my favourite pieces, like the Valentino Rock Studded flats and heels, and Mimco purses!
Finally, the neutral pallet of both looks inspire me. For what, exactly? Maybe to embrace a more mature life, to work hard enough so that I can enjoy everything that life has to offer… It’s funny how an outfit, more, an edit of an outfit can make you think this way. It could be the sophistication of the colours and pieces, or more the personal thought that went into it. I was thinking about an outfit that I would wear in a heartbeat, that could take me from work to dinners, events, anything. I have big plans for my life, and I don’t intend on approaching them in mediocre clothes!
I absolutely love this casual look, it’s stylish, comfortable and practical, and what’s better than an easy go-to outfit for a day out with friends?
I’ve also had a little play with prints, both on t-shirts and wall art, and I think that regardless of the text, it can be cool, calm and á la mode at the same time, especially if it’s something that’s personalised to your personality, so in this instance, a Beyoncé reference is on point.
I’d also like to mention that if you haven’t already, listen to Sam Smith‘s acoustic version of Latch… Just trust me on this.

Hi everyone, I am so so sorry for not posting in a very long time! It’s been such a busy, stressful time for me; between graduating from high school and studying for exams i’ve barely had time to breathe, let alone dedicate myself to The Fashion Journals!
I have tried, though! I have two articles (and a half) which are still in drafting, and many photos I need to post!
When it comes to writing, I try to provide you with the best quality of writing that I can possibly produce, and therefore am very fussy with what I post, hence why nothing has been published! I don’t like having quick, rushed posts and prefer to be committed to the piece before I show it to you all!
With that being said, during my (frequent) study breaks, I did make some edits and they will all be up soon, also, as from November 21st, I will be 100% focused on TFJ and will be doing everything possible to bring you guys great content!
Thanks for bearing with me, love you guys! x
Not only are mesh tops so so so chic, but they’re so easy to wear!
Regardless of your style, whether you prefer boho chic, casual or sports-luxe, mesh is easily adaptable to suit every occasion for every style.
In the edit above, i’ve gone for the Parisian chic type of look that has been sported a lot recently during Paris Fashion Week.
Personally, I love mesh and I can see mesh pieces becoming classic items which can be worn for quite some time, almost as versatile as the LBD!
(Bonus points if your LBD is mesh!)
